Natural Designing With Native Plants
Since 1997 we have advanced the use of native plants in modern landscapes.
Today GroWild is recognized as one of the leading wholesale native plant nurseries in the eastern U.S.
Discover the amazing transformations of indigo, the enchanting natural blue dye of centuries!
On Saturday, December 1, Jan Quarles will teach an introductory class on indigo and basic shibori techniques hosted by Terri Barnes in the stunning setting of GroWild.
In the class, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., you will learn about indigo, and learn folding and clamping (itajime) and wrapping (arashi) techniques. Thinking of holiday gifts created by your own hand? You’ll make two scarves and yardage for a bag or pillow.
Your class fee of $95 includes two scarves and a yard of cotton fabric and sampling fabrics as well as gloves, notes, a list of resources and extensive use of shibori tools.
Wear warm clothes you don’t mind getting dye on (indigo can be a messy process) and bring your lunch.
Also bring a jacket as we will hold the class in a covered outdoor pavilion.
Please contact Jan Quarles with questions or to request a PayPal invoice to register for the class.
Her email address is jan37129@yahoo.com.
Enrollment is 12 students maximum.
Class will be held at GroWild, Inc . 7190 Hill Hughes Rd. Fairview, TN 37062 615-799-1910
