GroWild, Inc. supplies all the wildflowers and ferns and many of the trees on this project, a labor of love.

Green Roof

William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum

GroWild Native Plant Nursery had the honor of being chosen to install a green roof at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. More than 150 species are featured, including Arkansas Bluestar, a perennial with needlelike leaves and blue flowers, and butterfly weed, a shrubby perennial with star-shaped orange flowers that attract butterflies. Over 90 species of plants were initially planted. And a special request for yellow roses was added for the former president since it was a favorite of his mother, the late Virginia Kelley. The William J. Clinton Presidential Library, a part of the National Archives, has been designated as one of the most energy-efficient and environmentally friendly places to work in the United States by the U.S. Green Buildings Council.

Green Roof

Westview Condos

Today architects and developers are increasingly turning to planted rooftops as a viable and attractive alternative to ordinary gravel-and-tar commercial installations. There are significant practical, economic, environmental and quality-of-life benefits. Westview Condos in Nashville, Tennessee is a wonderful example of urban renewal by incorporating  beautiful and  much needed nature on an exclusive,  10-unit residential  building  in the heart of a bustling city. The private roof top garden provides a 360 degree vista of Nashville including the State Capitol,  and homeowners entertain their guests in four separate sitting areas, including  a gazebo, while watching butterflies and listening to birds.  Landscaped with all native southeastern U.S. plants from GroWild, the  peaceful retreat includes American Smoketree, Serviceberry, Blueberry, Prairie Dropseed, Little Bluestem and the federally endangered Tennessee Coneflower.
